The Charity Island Collection

A delightful collection of Tshirts, Towels and Mugs that celebrate the largest and most visible island on Michigan's Saginaw Bay.  Before 1839, Big Charity Island was referred to as Shawangunk, while Little Charity Island was known as Ile de Traverse. Uninhabited and accessible only by boat the big island is the home of Charity Island Light which was constructed in 1857. It operated from 1857 to 1930.

Today dinner cruises from Au Gries and Caseville take adventurers to the island. You can even stay at the Lightlightkeeper's house during the summer season.
